$4 million won in Florida, while the Mega Millions jackpot rolls to $418 million!

The fourth largest jackpot in the 15-year history of Mega Millions will be offered on Friday, January 5 – an estimated prize of $418 million ($261.5 million cash)! The jackpot continues to roll after no ticket matched all six numbers in Tuesday night’s drawing – the white balls 1, 42, 47, 64 and 70, plus the gold Mega Ball 22.

It’s the first time the Mega Millions jackpot has surpassed $400 million since the summer of 2016, when a $536 million prize was won by a lucky winner in Indiana – the largest prize ever awarded on a single Mega Millions ticket.

Two tickets matched the five white balls Tuesday night to win the game’s second prize. One sold in Ohio is a $1 million winner; the other sold in Florida is worth $4 million because it included the optional Megaplier, which was 4X for Tuesday’s drawing. It’s the sixth ticket worth more than $1 million by adding the Megaplier since the game changed after the October 27 drawing. A total of 18 Match 5 winners have been won since then with the improved odds to win at that prize level.

The jackpot has been rolling since it was last won at $42 million on October 13; that prize was shared by winners in Michigan and Rhode Island. A total of six jackpots were won in 2017; the others were in New York ($105 million on September 22), Illinois ($393 million on August 11), Arkansas ($177 million on March 31) and California ($191 million on January 27 and $61 million on April 28).
