Jackpot Jumps to $530 Million!

For the first time since last October’s incredible run to $1.5 billion, the Mega Millions jackpot has surpassed the $500 million mark! After no ticket matched all six numbers drawn Tuesday night – the white balls 25, 37, 46, 48 and 68, plus the gold Mega Ball 25 – the jackpot jumps to an estimated $530 million ($343.9 million cash) for the next drawing on Friday, June 7.

As the jackpot keeps rolling, the number of winners at all other prize levels is escalating. In the June 4 drawing, there were a total of 1,320,417 winning tickets at all prize levels. Five tickets matched the five white balls to win the game’s second prize. One of those, sold in Colorado, included the optional Megaplier (an extra purchase available in most states) and is worth $2 million after the 2X Megaplier was drawn Tuesday night. The other four Match 5 winning  tickets, worth $1 million each, were sold in Arizona, Connecticut, Michigan and Minnesota.

Forty-six tickets matched the four white balls plus the Mega Ball to win the game’s $10,000 third prize. Eight of those are actually worth $20,000 each because they included the optional Megaplier.

Since the last jackpot was won in Missouri on March 12, there have been more than 17.2 million winning tickets at all prize levels, including 36 worth $1 million or more.

In addition to the $50 million prize won on March 12, other Mega Millions jackpots awarded this year include $437 million in New York on January 1 (now the ninth largest in the game’s history) and $273 million in New Jersey on March 1.
