For the fifth time in 2019, the Mega Millions jackpot has been won! Tuesday night’s drawing produced a single winning ticket, sold in New Hampshire, that matched all six numbers drawn to win the jackpot of $168 million ($108.5 million cash). The winning numbers for July 23 are the white balls 1, 4, 23, 40 and 45, plus the gold Mega Ball 11.
It’s the first Mega Millions jackpot-winning ticket ever sold in New Hampshire, although there have been several Match 5 winning tickets sold in the state, including one worth $5 million in 2014.
The jackpot had been rolling since a whopping $522 million jackpot was won in California on June 7; that prize has yet to be claimed. Other jackpots awarded this year include $437 million in New York on January 1, $273 million in New Jersey on March 1, and $50 million in Missouri on March 12.
In addition to the jackpot-winning ticket, there were 612,456 other winning tickets Tuesday night at all prize levels. One ticket, sold in California, matched the five white balls to win the game’s second prize. For matching four white balls plus the Mega Ball, 22 tickets won $10,000 each in Tuesday’s drawing; three of those are actually worth $20,000 each because they included the optional Megaplier, which was 2X for the July 23 drawing.
During this jackpot run, there were more than 6.1 million winning tickets sold, including the jackpot winner and eight other tickets with prize values of $1 million or more.
The next drawing on Friday, July 26, resets to its starting value of $40 million ($25.8 million cash).
