RELEASE DATE: 1/26/2022
The final Mega Millions® drawing in the month of January is a big one! An estimated $421 million jackpot ($290.9 million cash) is up for grabs on Friday, January 28, after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn Tuesday night – the white balls 3, 12, 38, 53 and 58, plus the gold Mega Ball 13. If won at this level, it would be the 13th largest jackpot in the 20-year history of the game!
The jackpot has been rolling since it was won at $108 million in Arizona on October 22. That was the last of six jackpots awarded in 2021, ranging from $55 million to a whopping $1.05 billion.

While the jackpot remains elusive, there were plenty of other winners in the January 25 drawing – a total of 991,225 winning tickets at all prize levels. Two tickets matched the five white balls to win the game’s second prize. One, sold in Rhode Island, is worth $3 million because it included the optional Megaplier (a $1 extra purchase available in most states), which was 3X Tuesday night. The other Match 5 winning ticket, sold in Texas, wins $1 million.
Twenty-six tickets matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball to win the game’s third prize. Four of those are worth $30,000 each because they also included the optional Megaplier. The other 22 third-prize tickets win $10,000 each.
Since the jackpot was last won in Arizona on October 22, there have been more than 15 million winning tickets at all prize levels, including 35 worth $1 million or more. Those big second-tier prizes have been won in 17 different states across the country: California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee and Texas.
