Kentucky residents win $1 million playing Mega Millions

July 15, 2015 - Sandra Goines and Mickey Regan, of Newport, Ky., recently claimed a $1,000,000 Mega Millions ticket from the July 3, 2015 drawing. The couple’s ticket matched the first five white ball numbers but not the Mega Ball to win the game’s second prize. The winning numbers from the July 3, 2015, drawing were: 33-50-64-71-72 Mega Ball 9.

Sandra told Kentucky Lottery officials they are going to slow down, travel and experience new things. Mickey said they’ll help their kids as well.

Mickey purchased the Mega Millions ticket at Highland Heights Marathon in Highland Heights, Ky., where he’s a regular at the store. Mickey is retired and Sandra is a nurse.
