Steubenville, Ohio, woman wins $1,000,000

May 13, 2015 - Carolyn Keras of Steubenville, Ohio, matched five numbers in the May 8, 2015, Mega Millions drawing to win $1,000,000.

Keras matched the winning numbers of 9-21-25-66-72 to win the second tier Mega Millions prize. After mandatory state and federal taxes totaling 29 percent, Keras will receive $710,000.

Carolyn said this is her first big win, and she plans to pay off bills and buy a reliable car with her winnings. She doesn’t usually play Mega Millions, but her son told her she should give it a try. This was only the second ticket she ever bought in the game!

Keras purchased her winning ticket at Ruff Creek Markets, 953 North 7th Street in Steubenville. The retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling a second tier prize winning ticket.
