$3 million Mega Millions prize is largest ever won in North Dakota!
Drawing Date: 5/17/2016
May 20, 2016 - The $3 Million Mega Millions with Megaplier prize was claimed today by an anonymous winner from Williston, N.D. He told North Dakota Lottery officials that he let the lottery terminal pick the lucky numbers. The winner said he plans to put the money in the bank and then just sit back and think about the future. Congrats to the lucky winner!
The $3 million winning ticket matched all five white balls in the May 17 drawing, and added the optional Megaplier feature for one dollar more, tripling the prize when the Megaplier drawn was 3. The winning numbers for that drawing were 17, 24, 27, 48, 75, and the Mega Ball was 6.
The lucky ticket was sold at Kum & Go, 1404 2nd Street West, in Williston, N.D. The Kum & Go store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning Mega Millions ticket and an additional $5,000 because the ticket included the Megaplier feature, for a total of $10,000.
This is the largest prize ever won in the history of the North Dakota Lottery. The previous record prize was a $2 million Powerball with Power Play ticket purchased in Williston on September 5, 2015.
