Miami woman celebrates the weekend early
Drawing Date: 7/5/2016
July 29, 2016 - The Florida Lottery announces that Dana Pelletier, 54, of Coral Gables, Fla., claimed a $1 million Mega Millions prize from the drawing held on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. The winning Quick Pick ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers, but did not match the Mega Ball.
An avid Lottery player, Pelletier’s luck began back in 1988 when she won a $5,000 top prize playing the Florida Lottery’s very first Scratch-Off game, MILLIONAIRE. “Even though I didn’t win the big jackpot this time, it’s still a great blessing for me and my family,” Pelletier said.
Pelletier purchased her ticket from Publix, located at 1401 Monza Avenue in Coral Gables. The retailer received a $1,000 bonus commission for selling the $1 million Mega Millions ticket. Total ticket sales for this series of Mega Millions rollovers generated more than $28 million for Florida’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
