A Coke and a $3 million winning ticket

January 9, 2018 - The $3 million winning Mega Millions ticket from the January 5th drawing was claimed at Oklahoma Lottery headquarters by Ruth Johnson of Duncan, Okla.

Mrs. Johnson stopped into Chisholm Corner, located at 502 Plato Road in Duncan, to grab a Coke and purchased an easy pick Mega Millions ticket for last Friday’s drawing. This stop proved lucky for Mrs. Johnson who plans to purchase land and do home renovations with her winnings.

Mrs. Johnson successfully matched five of five white balls to win; she also purchased the MegaPlier multiplier feature for an extra dollar. The multiplier for Friday night’s drawing was 3 which tripled her original prize of $1 million to $3 million.

Including Johnson, the Oklahoma Lottery has had 58 winners of $1 million or more including four Powerball jackpot winners and six Hot Lotto jackpot winners.
