A sleepless night for million-dollar winner!

March 8 - Seventy-two-year-old Kui Yuen Miu, of Queens, is the latest New Yorker to win the $1,000,000 Mega Millions second prize. Miu won his prize on a set of random numbers he chose for the February 13 drawing.
 
“Sometimes I use birthdays, but that day I just chose random numbers,” explained Miu. “I always check my tickets after the drawing. When I realized I won a million dollars I couldn’t sleep!”
 
The winning Mega Millions numbers for the February 13 drawing were 5-12-15-46-49 Mega Ball 1.
 
The $1,000,000 Mega Millions second prize is paid as a one-time lump sum payment. Miu will receive a net check totaling $633,040 after required withholdings.
 
As for his plans for the winnings Miu said, “I’ve never won this much money. I’ll have to check with my wife before I decide how to spend it.”
 
Miu is the 19th New York Lottery player to claim a prize totaling $1,000,000 or more this year. The winning ticket was purchased at Mitul Quick Stop on Main Street in Flushing.
