Phone call signaled big Mega Millions win Drawing Date: 7/14/2020 August 5, 2020 – Scott Clark always told his family he would never call them during work unless they won the lottery. Back in mid-July, he had the occasion to call them. When prompted as to the reason he was calling, he replied, “I told you I’d only ever call you at work if we won the Lottery. Well, we did.” Clark and his group of winners became the second largest winners on Mega Millions in Idaho Lottery history and the ninth largest winners on a ticket sold by the Idaho Lottery in its 31-year history. The winning ticket was from the July 14, 2020, Mega Millions draw. The ticket matched the first five numbers, but not the Mega Ball, and had the Megaplier option, turning the ticket into a $4 million winner. The winning ticket was sold at K-C Oil in Malad City, a small rural town along the Idaho-Utah border. A long-time player from Ogden, Utah, Clark and his group had been playing the lottery together for more than a decade and a half. The winnings were split among five players, with Clark and his wife Angie taking 70% of the prize. The other three winners were fellow Utah residents Scott Yearsley of Farr West, Arnold Mikesell of Morgan, and Curt Walker of Clearfield. The group claimed their winnings in early August and said since it was not enough to retire on, they planned on winning again!
