RELEASE DATE: 6/15/2016
For the first time since November 2014, the Mega Millions jackpot has surpassed $300 million! After no ticket matched all six numbers drawn Tuesday night (36, 37, 38, 52 and 62, plus the Mega Ball 6), the jackpot rolls to an estimated $310 million ($211 million cash) for the next drawing on Friday, June 17.
Only ten previous Mega Millions jackpots have been worth more than $300 million, and Friday’s drawing will offer the 11th largest jackpot in the game’s history! Tickets cost just $1 and are available in 46 American lottery jurisdictions.
Although the jackpot rolled Tuesday night, there was one Match 5 winning ticket sold in California and more than 2.5 million winning tickets at all other prize levels.
The jackpot has been growing since it was last won at $157 million in Washington on March 8. Since that time, there have been more than 41.9 million winning tickets sold, including 35 Match 5 winners of $1 million or more.
