Mega Millions’ newest participating lottery, Wyoming, got its first big winner in the game Tuesday night, as a whopping $5 million winning ticket was sold in the state. The ticket matched the five white balls drawn on March 22 – 6, 19, 34, 38 and 70, just missing the Mega Ball of 5. Because the purchase included the optional Megaplier for an additional $1, the ticket is worth $5 million after the 5x Megaplier was drawn.
Wyoming is America’s youngest lottery, having launched in August 2014.
It has been a lucky March for the Megaplier, with two other $5 million winners this month, one each in Florida and Ohio.
Meanwhile, the jackpot rolls to an estimated $35 million for the next drawing on Friday, March 25. It was last won at $157 million in Washington on March 8.
