A $340 million Mega Millions jackpot for Friday the 13th!

Friday the 13th has been lucky for past Mega Millions players, and after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Tuesday night, it could be lucky again! An estimated $340 million jackpot ($204.8 million cash) will be up for grabs on Friday, July 13; if won, it would be the tenth largest prize in the game’s history. The winning numbers for July 10 are the white balls 1, 17, 28, 56 and 70, plus the gold Mega Ball 14.

Six Mega Millions jackpots have been won on a Friday the 13th. Michigan has been especially lucky on that special day, with four winning jackpots (June 2008, May 2011, June 2014, and a shared prize with Rhode Island in October 2017). A Friday the 13th jackpot was also won in New York in March 2009 and in Ohio in November 2015. If won this Friday, the estimated $340 million prize would be by far the largest ever awarded on a Friday the 13th.

Although the jackpot keeps rolling, there were two tickets that matched the five white balls Tuesday night to win $1 million, one each in Illinois and New York. Thirty-nine tickets matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball for the game’s $10,000 third prize. Five of those are actually worth $30,000 each because they included the optional Megaplier (available in most states for an extra $1 purchase).

There were a total of 947,131 winning tickets Tuesday night at all prize levels. Since the last jackpot was won on May 4, there have been more than 10.1 million winning tickets at all prize levels, including 20 worth $1 million or more.

The jackpot was last won in Ohio on May 4, when the ABC XYZ Trust collected $142 million. Two other jackpots have been awarded this year – $451 million on January 5 (in Florida) and $533 million on March 30 (in New Jersey). The latter prize is the fourth largest in the history of Mega Millions.
